WIWRN - #1

I watch a lot of movies, as well as TV shows but I never watch them on air. With TV series I have to be able to watch a few episodes at a time and get into it opposed to just watching one episode and going crazy for a week until the next one comes out. Over the past few weeks I've been catching up on a lot of shows I've been wanting to watch, as well as a few movies that I hadn't seen yet that I wanted to.

Once Upon A Time

For those of you who don't watch it, the show takes place in the fictional seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine, in which the residents are actually characters from various fairy tales that were transported to the "real world" town and robbed of their real memories by the Evil Queen, Regina (Lana Parrilla), using a powerful curse obtained from Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). Their only hope is Emma Swan, who is sort of forced to come to the town when her son who she gave up for adoption when he was a baby shows up on her doorstep and convinces her to go there. The residents of Storybrooke have lived an unchanging existence for 28 years, unaware of their own lack of aging.

I started watching it with pretty low expectations from reviews I had heard from friends, but was glad I ended up watching it because I plowed through the first season on Netflix and am doing a free week trial of Hulu plus in order to watch/catch up on the second season. Recommended for anyone interested in ABC style fantasy.

I'll post about a horror movie I watched this past week in a few days. I actually liked it and it gave me faith in the future of the scary movie industry!

xoxo Jackie
