Uh... hi.

It's been quite a while, huh? Let's just say these past few months have been absolutely insane and busy. I must have said to myself every single night, "Jackie, you better do a blog post tomorrow" and never did it. For a while I wasn't even keeping up on reading some of my favorite blogs! It was stressing me out a bit, because I love blogging and reading up on others blogs; but for some reason I was having a block that wasn't allowing me to post. Writers block wasn't even an excuse since I had SO many ideas for things I wanted to say, or share! I guess all that matters is I'm back now, and I'm at least going to try and keep posting on a regular basis.

A (somewhat) brief catch up on my life as of late; I moved back into school for my Sophomore year, and it's already so much more amazing than freshman year as far as the living situation goes. I have the same amazing roommate, but we are in a much better housing situation with more friends. The workload this semester increased significantly from last semester, but I'm okay with that. Being busy is a good thing, but I've noticed that I've been feeling overwhelmed a lot more often and with more despair that I can't pull myself out of the intense workload. Right now I'm in a good place; essentially caught up on all my work, back on track, and still with my sanity in tact.

I'm currently dramaturging for the two main productions my college is putting on; so I'm looking forward to sharing some of my research on this blog possibly, and my experience through that.

I ALSO may or may not have considered learning a new, very dangerous hobby. If I do stick with it and eventually get somewhere, I really want to share it with everyone.

This post wasn't really planned, but I wanted to get it out there before going back into scheduling more posts on a weekly basis. This blog is a really great outlet for me in a creative sense, mental sense and definitely aids in figuring out where I am as a person, and where I want to grow.

In That Old Familiar Way

This past weekend I drove to Rochester (all seven and a half hours by myself) to watch a beautiful couple get married. I'm so happy I was able to be a part of this amazing weekend and can't wait to head back to upstate NY to hang out with everyone again. Congrats to Jen and Kevin!

Photo An Hour// First Of June

I promised myself that on my next day off I would do a photo an hour, and I'm happy I remembered when I woke up since it's something I've been wanting to do since seeing some of my favorite blogs (Kaelah and Elycia) always do them! We had to go pick up our (not so little) Olivia from the airport to spend the month with us.

9:30 AM; getting out of my boyfriend's bed and getting ready for the long day ahead!

10:30 AM; sporting my OK tank top from Hello Apparel, just about to hit the road to my house.

11:30 AM; My dad helping our friend who came over to visit by opening her animal crackers.

12:30 PM; Mail time. I got my court date for my speeding ticket appeal (woops!)

1:30 PM; Packing our bags with snacks and whatnots for a drive to the Rhode Island airport.

2:30 PM; On the road again, listening to showtunes and Oldies.

3:30 PM; We made it to the airport. It's always nice going here instead of Logan, less stress!

4:30 PM; The flight was delayed, so Starbucks came to the rescue while we waited.

5:30 PM; Once the little lady landed, we were back on the rainy road home.

6:30 PM; Quick pit stop to pick up a few groceries to make a late dinner.

7:30 PM; Smiley fries and sweet potato fries to the rescue!

8:30 PM; We ended our night eating burgers and watching Oz.

And that was my rainy Monday! It was a long day and waking up for my 9:30 yoga class was a bit tough. Well worth it though.

Konica TC

This past weekend my boyfriend and I helped his cousin move out of his old house. While he was cleaning out the basement he found a camera bag and said I could have it and it's contents. Assuming it was going to be trash, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Konica TC in BEAUTIFUL condition! Everything on it works (I'm assuming from looking over it, the body and inside condition and the wonderful noise the shutter is making) and it had an extra lens with a hard lens case in it. It was kind of funny that this camera fell in my lap that day, because the night before I ordered a Pentax K1000 since my current 35mm died. Once I develop my first roll of film, I'll make sure to post the results!

Who else loves to shoot with 35mm film or any other format of film? I always get so inspired during the warmer months to shoot film because of all the pretty colors the season brings.

P.S. on one of the runs to the dump, I took a peak into the community shop there and found two perfectly good Shakespeare books! I already have Hamlet in this addition, so it's nice to find more to add to the collection.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

My mom and I recently took a trip to our local nursery and garden shop to grab a few plants to spruce up the backyard. Of course I wanted to get a couple succulents to hopefully start a small indoor collection in my craft room. The only bad thing about this trip was that we both wanted to get peonies SO bad to plant and they had none! What a bummer. Maybe next time they'll have some beauties for us.

Have you guys been planting anything? I was hoping to have raised beds this season but I guess it'll just have to wait for next year.

Putnam Candlepin

On the last night of school before moving out, my roommate and I double-dated with our men and went to Putnam Street Lanes, which happens to be the oldest surviving candlepin lanes in the country! How cool is that? I love going on bowling dates and for some reasons I don't go very much in the summer, usually in the colder months. I should work on that, bowling is rad!

Make Way For Ducklings!

At my work we had a momma' duck nesting between two bushes, in front of a heating unit. Every day we all would eagerly spy on her to see how she was doing (and occasionally feed her berries, after learning that bread if bad for ducks in this article). The second picture is after they crossed the street (which I ran across with my camera, thank goodness we were slow at my work so I could do that!) and were on their way to the harbor. Thought some cute baby ducks might just brighten your day!

Hello Beautiful!

Welcoming a new friend to my camera family... the Canon 50mm 1.4 lens! I got it in the mail a few weeks ago after months and months of dreaming about it. Yay for working full time this summer and buying myself nice things!

Weekend Vacation

I'm leaving this morning to head to Laconia, New Hampshire for a short but much needed vacation! My boyfriend and I, as well as a couple friends, are taking the motorcycles up and camping. We plan to leave all of our stress, work and woes behind in Massachusetts. Can't wait to share pictures of the trip with you guys!

Fancy That Vol. 2

I don't know about you guys, but I save ALL of my movie ticket stubs and generally tickets I get for anything. Pretty sure this ticket stub diary from ModCloth would be the most perfect thing for me!

I'm in some serious need of a new makeup bag and this one from Forever21 is on sale for only $4 right now! 

I am OBSESSED with these new sunnies from Tumbleweeds Handcraft. I've been drooling over their glasses for a while now and these are just too cute to handle. (P.S. you should follow Doug and Beca on instagram, it's awesome seeing their WIP pictures on glasses!)

This olive canvas backpack from Barnes and Nobles is perfect for my trip this weekend to Laconia, NH. Since I'm going to be on a motorcycle for several hours a day, every day, I need something sturdy and reliable to keep on my back to hold my camera and things!

I want to join Birchbox SO bad. I might start subscribing once I'm back from vacation. I tried a few weeks ago and had a few hiccups being able to do it, but I think I'll just have to try again.

Only two more days until I leave for vacation! I only have to work tomorrow morning, then the rest of my time until we leave on Friday morning is going to be spent packing and making sure I have everything set for the trip.
